Just trying out the photo posting function for this format
No posts received thumbs up, next time you see a good one, give some respect and thumb it up.
Why is this in the "news" section? Anyway, give me a day or two. I have that issue here.
Are you saying you couldn't view the pics?
Here's a few. Stoner, Sherry Haley, you, John Peck on the nose, Stoner at the Hotel Anclote, a shot from May 66 in Mex ( you might recognize the car), Curt Slater at Blacks, and Bob Stay in a water shot from Blacks.
BA, have you seen this?

They spelled your name wrong (typical) but there's some good stuff there.

Cool toy. Will that work with your whole armory of F lenses?
-capewaterrat
Yep. Just about every Nikon dSLR is compatible with every lens they've made, with some limitations on the really old ones. The mount has never changed. I still have the F5, and the D50. I'm probably going to trade in the 50 along with most of my Pentax gear so I can score another lens or two.
I finally upgraded from my 'entry level' dSLR and scored a Nikon D 300. Glad to be back in the '8 frames per second' league, as I was with my F 5.
These are just a couple of test shots from yesterday. Some early Spring glass at a local beachbreak. Air 36, water 38.
If the leash loop through the fin box is original, the board cannot be that old. Late 80s/ early 90s, maybe?
I agree with Pink Bod about the similarity to a Liddle hull design.
I like the bodysurfer shot. Mainly because it's something you don't see that much of. Plus, the guy is showing good form.
A warm welcome is extended to our newest member, Turby (aka TK).
Sorry to hear about the ear thing, and it causing you to miss that trip to 808-ville.
It is hard to sort out new posts since people seem to drop them into just any old section within the forum.
The NEWS section is for announcements about the forum. The FAQ section is for FAQs as it would be in any other format. It's for Frequently Asked Questions. If you have a specific question about a unique board, or a travel location that's not the 'usual' destinations, use the General section. The general section is for everything else. This includes: Polls, photos, general BS, and any other nonsense ya might want to toss up. Let's keep the general discussion in that very same section, so new posts will appear in the same place.
I think this should be posted in the "general" section. "News" is more for the purpose of announcements re: the forum itself.
I'd like to personally welcome Bud808, our newest member.
We are up to 16 members, and the content is slowly accumulating. With luck we can get some of those who fell by the wayside as casualties of the the usenet pogrom of '08 to rejoin us, here. Spread the word.
Some friends of mine from the area South of Boston know Beal. He has a very good rep as a shaper, around New England.
A stretch of below normal air temps has caused the water temps to drop quite a bit around here.
Local TV station says January has averaged 5 degrees below normal for daily high temps.
Caught some waist high waves yesterday, but I lasted only an hour before my hands went straight to painville.
I'm done til it (h2o) gets above 40 again.
Which tags did you use, foon. Is it "img" or "image" ? I haven't tried, yet.
So far, I have surfed with all of the members -Now if there is a way for you to moderate the content / membership...
-billandrews
We've never surfed together. So I have to wonder if this is really BA?
As to moderating content and members... I will try to be fair, but I'm only human and some of my personal opinions will certainly slant my views when it comes to membership and topics.
I'm still a bit skeptical as to whether this is actually BA. Those odd NY photos seemed out of character.
So, I'll ask this question. You once asked me to scan an article for you. What was the article about, and who were the people involved?
Bonus question: Name three magazine ads you appeared in.
We're up to 4 members, and I'm glad to see BA has signed up. That means I don't have to be the "old guy".
At this point, I'm not really thrilled with the format. The side bar on the right takes up too much space,IMO. I'll look into changing that when I have time.
Welcome, Rodrigo. And thanks for contributing the pics!
Yes, Neal. If you check out the post titled AS in the 21st Century, I mention that I created this at the suggestion of westoz.
Welcome to member # 2. The illustrious Sponge, aka Neal.
Welcome, all. Here's the web based version of AS.
Let the kookery commence!!
